U2 performes live on the David Letterman show “Magnificent” from their latest album No Line in the Horizon in spectacular HD.
U2 played a five-night residency on the David Letterman show. “Magnificent” was the song they played the second night to promote the new album No Line in the Horizon. U2′s last perfermance on Letterman was in 2001. U2′s eight-year absence from the Late Show was probably due to their schedule, it may also have been linked to their performance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The Irish band appeared on his show just weeks after their last Letterman appearance.

You know, I think U2 burned through some serious PR capital when they did their Apple commercials plugging the red line products. I pretty much got sick of them. I also didn’t love their last album. But there is no doubt that they are world class entertainers. Their concerts are really incredible.

I’ve never been a big U2 fan, although I had a listen to some of their earlier stuff the other day and quite liked it. I think they’ve past their sell by date now though and the majority of the songs they release nowadays are nothing special.

Not really a fan of U2 or any other rocks songs, since I prefer pop songs. But it seems that they are not really that bad at all, maybe it just depends on the perception of listeners and viewers.
