Eric Clapton performs live in HD “Layla” originally released by Derek and the Dominos. “Layla is considered one of the greatest rock songs of all time by some. The original version of the song featured both Eric Clapton and Duane Allman from the Allman Brothers Band playing guitar.
This song was written for model Patti Boyd then George Harrison’s (of the Beatles) wife as he attempts to woo her into adultery. Patti Boyd must have been something. She has three well known songs written about her: “Something” written by Harrison, “Layla”, and “Wonderful Tonight” by Clapton. She did leave Harrison for Clapton.
