Metallica – “Enter Sandman” performed live on the BBC on Later with Jools Holland in high def. This is a nice live performance of one of Metallica’s most famous songs from the Black Album. The old school fans of Metallica, think this song is too mainstream and prefer songs such as “Fade to Black”. I think that it shows maturity in their songwriting and if you listen to it–it’s not that much different than “Welcome Home”. The truth is that the old school fans don’t like the fact that this song became popular with casual fans.
I’m cool with Metallica becoming popular with the casual rock fan. I’m not cool with them making shitty albums such a Reload, Load, and St. Anger.
